My name is Sharayah (rhymes with hooray-uh!), and I like to write words and draw pictures!
I am a member of SCBWI (Western Washington), and since being a pony journalist ballerina didn’t really work out, my biggest dream in life is to write and illustrate children’s books. I am currently seeking representation and publication for a picture book manuscript, Bird and Sheep, and am working on what I believe is scientifically termed a “butt-load” of other projects (if you think that’s crude don’t blame me, blame science).
I’m a graduate of the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in English. By day I work from home as a virtual assistant so I can care for my super-adorable baby boy Charlie, and by night I am holed up in my studio with my stinky dog, a space heater and a giant cup of coffee. I also run an art camp for kids on the autism spectrum through Northwest Behavioral Associates, and do a little independent tutoring on the side as well.
My writing/artwork has appeared in:
Unbound Literary Magazine (pg 28)
Bumples Online Children’s Magazine (Nov 2013)
