Of course, no doodle anthology of mine would be complete without birds…and lots of them. They never cease to delight, amuse, and amaze me. I love birds.
There are birds playing Monopoly, Chicken O’Neil and Swan, a sketchy version of Smoky Joe, and various little toucans and other beak-y creatures.
On the left you’ll see a cockatiel in a cage- that’s what was on my mind at the time because I was contemplating giving a home to my grandma’s cockatiel Petey. (I decided against it because we live in a studio apartment and birds are noisy, which doesn’t mix well with my husband.) You can also see a version of the Fwizz at the bottom.
On the right towards the bottom there’s my homage to the scene in Aladdin where Iago dresses up as a flamingo. Next to him on the left is something we like to call the Roosting Roark thanks to Chris’s silly friend Thomas. It’s basically the Grim Reaper of the bird world, as you can see.The rest of the page pretty much speaks for itself…apparently at some point I have had babies on the mind!
Especially boring classes call for especially elaborate doodles. That’s Früdd looking out thoughtfully over the bay. Expect to see more of him in the future!
